Jeff, studied math, physics and chemistry as an
undergraduate, followed by graduate chemistry degree and

eventually pharmacology, and therapeutics. During his graduate
years he had the privilege of studying under Al Gilman in the field
of cAMP signal transduction, Pre-synaptic neurotransmitter
modulation under Dr. Tom Westphal and Insulin action under Dr
Joe Larner, all at the Univ of VA. Over his career, he has worked
with 6 Nobel Laureates ( Al Gilman, Ferid Murad, Jim Black,
John Vane, Trudy Elion and George Hitchings).
Upon graduation he began a career in Large Pharma. At
Burroughs Welcome, he became the Principle Scientist for the
corporation. Later at Glaxo, he was V.P. Science. He discovered
and developed many drugs at these companies (see CV).
After large Pharma he began a career in biotechnology,
founding, raising capital, taking public, and/or merging many
companies, including Genesis, Sphinx, ICAgen, Inspire, Hypnion,
and Milestone Pharma.
Currently, he assists other start-up companies in understanding
the discovery and development process. His scientific interest
includes pain management, mitochondrial activation/cellular
energy generation, and mechanism of diastolic relaxation of heart
muscle. Further, he is also a Founder of Nutrition Science
Company called Stronger, Faster and Healthier. In addition to
these interests, he is also active in CO2 Fixation Science and
water conservation in crop science.
